ConsoleOne shuts down

Hello -
We have a quirky problem with ConsoleOne and I wanted to ask if anyone
else has encountered a similar problem.

Environment:
ConsoleOne 1.3.6 with ZSM 7 snapins
Application is presented via nFuse in Citrix

Problem:
When I right-click on the Server Management Database and choose
"reporting," ConsoleOne closes. This is an intermittant problem and we
are testing to see if it is host-related (in the Citrix farm) or not.
While the problem is intermittant in the published application, we do
not see the problem with a local installation.

There is a similar response when reporting on the ZfD product via
Citrix.

Has anyone else encountered a similar issue?

Thank you.

Re: ConsoleOne shuts down

Go to download.novell.com and select ConsoleOne for the product, and
search. In that list are the latest Zen 7 snapins and C1 1.3.6e .
Install those on the PC you usually use to admin your tree, and may as
well install on the server too.

Andrew,
Unfortunately, 1.3.6e is not an option for us at this time, as directed
by Novell ZSM engineers and product managers. Originally, when we
first began testing/deployment of the product, we deployed 1.3.6e, but
had problems with components not being available within the object
properties. For example, text fields in some ZSM objects could not be
filled with values, etc. To make a long story short (which involved
other issues that we identified in our initial tests), we had a meeting
with our account reps and technical engineers at Novell in April and
were specifically instructed to revert back to 1.3.6, the product that
was tested with included in the ZSM 7 code, until the release of SP1.

Actually, I can get around the issue by using a local install, but
wanted to ask if anyone had encountered the same problem which appears
to be that something is accessible within the desktop environment than
what is presented as a published app.

It's similar to the quirk where you need to have "File and Print for
Microsoft Networks" installed/enabled on a desktop into order to
install ZSM snapins to a local copy fo C1. It's not a documented
requirement, but without the service available, the snapins will not
install and you get C$ errors.

Thank you,
Dave
