Consolidation

Hi all!

I'm going to consolidate a NW5.0sp6a server to a NW6.5sp2 server. I read
in the documentation that I need to make sure I have the latest tsa.nlm and
smdr.nlm loaded. How can I find what tsa and smdr versions I have loaded?
How can I find what the most current versions of tsa and smdr versions for
NW5.0sp6a are? \

thanks!!

Consolidation

At your file server console type:

M TSA* (enter)

the resulting wording will let you know the date and version of that NLM,
then do the same for SMDR.NLM - M SMDR* (return).

To see what's in the service pack, the documentation with the service pack
should give details on the included files.

Re: Consolidation

Both the Consolidation Utility and the Migration Wizard contain the
appropriate SMDR and TSA files for the different NetWare versions, and
if you run these tools, they will automatically update your server.
For a Nw 5.0 server, it is important that the server is fully patched
before the Consolidation or Migration, or it might abend.
Also, if the TSA and SMDR modules are being updated, they will be
unloaded and the new versions loaded. An unload of the TSA modules can
cause a server abend if they have been used before by a backup program.
Therefore, before the Migration, it is best to edit the NW 5.0
autoexec.ncf and remove any backup program and any commands loading TSA
or SMDR modules. Then restart the server before the migration.
