Copy file from one server to another without use Windows

How can I copy file from one server to another without use Windows station. The best solution will be mount volume from remote server and then copy file using CC. How can I do this?

Hi firosiro,

Welcome to the Micro Focus forums.

There are many things to consider including:

  • The source and destination server operating systems.
  • The source and destination server filesystems.
  • The type of files you want to copy.

In fact, when I was faced with this same task, I found there was no simple answer so I gathered together all the relevant details and wrote a Cool Solution dealing with this very subject.

The most problematic combination is trying to copy GroupWise files from a NetWare server so that was the focus of the article but there is lots of information and ideas dealing with Linux and OES.

Please see: Migrating Files from NetWare to Linux or OES in 2017 for some ideas. After you've had a look, we can discuss your specific requirements.

Not sure what CC is. But trying to remember how I used to do this
when I ran Netware... A couple options are:

Toolbox - https://www.novell.com/coolsolutions/tools/13950.html
Taskmaster - https://www.novell.com/coolsolutions/tools/13732.html

A file manager much like old Norton Commander, but as an NLM. And the
bonus to me in finding a link for you is a newer version than I've been
using.

For comparison, think Midnight Commander on Linux or Total Commander
(among many others) on Windows.
