Custom Tile bitmap option not applying
I've got Novell Client 2 SP3 set up pretty much how I want it on Windows 7 x86 but would like to customise the default image that appears on the login screen to the logo of our organisation. I can see the setting in the client that's referenced in the user guide...
Setting Name: Default bitmap for Welcome screen tiles
Registry Key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Novell\Authentication\NCCredProvider]
I've set this to c:\windows\nlogin.bmp (copied file into place) but although the entry appears correctly in the registry there's no change on the login screen, any suggestions?

It sounds as if you're describing:
Setting Name: Default bitmap for Welcome screen tiles
Registry Key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Novell\Authentication\NCCredProvider]
Value Name: Tile Bitmap
Value Data Type: REG_DWORD
Description: Specifies the path and filename for a bitmap that will be used on Welcome screen tiles whenever a user-specific bitmap is not yet known.
But you may be wanting:
Setting Name: Default bitmap for Novell Login dialog
Registry Key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Novell\Login\Banner]
Value Name: Image
Value Data Type: REG_SZ
Description: Specifies the path and filename for a bitmap that will be used on the Novell Login dialog in place of the default Novell Client bitmap.

Check out "Setting a Standardized Login Screen for Windows 7". From the Novell User Communities. This article was published 21 May 2010 by cpremo.
