DHCP, DNS and File sharing on same server

Hello,

Is it a good practice to have DHCP, DNS and File sharing on the same
server? It is one of the 2 servers in a cluster.

I am new in directing Novell adminstrators and my admins tell me it is
more than fine. They say they (DHCP and DNS) should be on our most
powerfull server. My Windows' admin background tells me that file
servers should not supply services other than file sharing.

Thank you!

There's a rude comment about MS just waiting to come out here, but I'll
be nice. 🙂 Yes, you can run multiple services on one server without
issue in most cases. What really counts is how the server is used and
what it's overall load will be -- as long you have the hardware to
support what you need to do, the NW OS can handle it.

The potential disadvantage is a single point of failure, but you're
already addressing that via clustering.
