DNS-DHCP objects and attributes in JC

Hello

I have some trouble with the DNS Servers and the update with from the DHCP servers.

What tabs do you have for your DNS server?
I have Zones, Forwarding List, No-Forward List, Options, Key List
Have you more?

My second issue:
I have generated a key in "All Zones", but I do not see it in the Key List.
what coud be wrong?

Thanks a lot

"Control Lists" and "Advanced" in addition to what you have.

Does the corresponding eDir object exist? Is it replicated properly?

Which codebase are you running on (OES2015SP1, ....)? And which build of the java console?

Like Mathias, I have "Control Lists" and "Advanced" in addition to what
you have.

Make sure you don't have multiple DNS-DHCP locater objects as that
messes things up, and OES installs do like creating new ones if you
aren't careful enough (last Autumn's fun for me)

one way to get a full export of most/all your DNS and DHCP objects is
to do an LDAP export on
objectclass=dnip*
with Attributes:
dn,dNIPDNSServerOptions,dNIPDNSServerReference,dNIPDNSServers,dnipDNSSe
rverVersion,dNIPDNSUpdateOption,dNIPDNSZones,dNIPDomainName,dNIPServerD
N,dnsRRUpDomainName,domain

The tool I use for that is outlined in
https://community.microfocus.com/t5/OES-Tips-Information/LDAP-Export-
tool/ta-p/1781582
that is also great for getting user lists out of eDir, especially
checking before licensing updates or for cleanup validation before any
TrueUp.

Re: DNS-DHCP objects and attributes in JC

Hi and thanks for the replies.

the JC version is: OES2018 SP1 2018 2.0.8

The corresponding eDir objects are there and replication is fine.

DHCP server object shows server version 2015+

My researches with LDAP bring me to the conclusion that the new DNS servers miss the two attributes:
- DNIP:DNS Server Reference
- DNIP:LocatorPtr

This two attributes I see on the old OES2011 servers.
Are they need on the new servers too?

Unfortunetly I cant find them on the Unvalued Attributes of the servers with iManager.

Any idee how to fix it?

In addittion, the new servers are also DHCP and file servers.

Thx a lot

Re: DNS-DHCP objects and attributes in JC

These attributes are still needed. If you really can't add them the tree's schema hasn't been extended properly. You've mentioned the "old OES2011 servers", so i'd guess those reside a tree different from the one you're having issues with.
Anyway, i'd check the tree's schema and, if it's not extended properly yet, i'd do so manually or with the "schema-tool" in yast. Afterwards you can link the objects, manually or with the "OES Install and Configuration" workflow in yast.
