DNS: Use the OES named as AD DNS

Jump to solution

Need to install  a M$AD. I want to use the existing DNS environment as base for the AD.

AFAIK the M$AD use the DNS as replacement for SLP and need the ablility to create SRV records in the zone. I have the zone (ad.example.com and the reverse zone) and there are the records for the M$-Server. The M$-Srv can resolve the hostnames.

How going on? Which settings are used to let the M$AD delegate the zone? It is sufficient to set the 'Allow Update Option' in the zone?

Yes. Usually, I just allow the update by IP address (of the AD Controllers). Make sure you allow all AD Controllers to update the zone.
