Deleting Server and Container

We have a branch office that is closed and their server got destroyed. All
the data has been transfered to the head office server before the office
shutdown.
I would like to delete the server object and the container that the branch
server object is located. What is the proper way to delete the server and
the container which also includes objects like users, groups and GroupWise
po.

Thanks

Re: Deleting Server and Container

Normally, you should have removed the server object by removing the NDS
from the server before decommisioning it.
Anyway, now, to delete it, use Console under "Views" select the partition
and replica view. Then browse down to the server and delete the server
object. when you click on the server to delete it, it will take some time
because ConsoleOne will try to connect to the server.

Once you have deleted the server object, switch back to Console view and
now delete all other objects in the container. Once all the objects are
deleted, you can delete the container object itself. If the container is a
partition, you can't delete it right away. You first have to merge it with
the parent partition.

Re: Deleting Server and Container

I am not able to delete the server object since it holds the master
replica of its container partition. When I try to change the master
replica of that parition to another server I get this error. Error: 0x8867
The resources are insufficient to perform requested operation.

Any suggestions.

In that case, you need to run dsrepair on one of the servers holding a r/w
replica of the partition and force that server to be the master. See the
following TID for details:
