Difficulty deleting files or folders
NW6 SP5 with NSS post SP5 fix.
We have large NSS volumes with about 500,000 student files. Very
occasionally students place folders or files into their home directories
that can;t seem to be deleted. On this volume I have three such files. If I
try to delete them I can get error messages saying for folder or file names
are too long or corrupt. I recall years ago when we were on NW5 or 5.1 I
used to get this and would delete the files by going through nwadmin or
sometimes to a map to their drive and delete through a command prompt.
However now I cant seem to shift them!
Any ideas?
Regards
Brian

Re: Difficulty deleting files or folders
Under what SP were the pools created or last rebuilt? Probably you have
hangovers from old NSS bugs; on the affected pools do
nss /poolrebuild /purge
Make sure you have tested backups first, just in case.
