Directory Space Restriction - reports

Hello All,

I am wondering if there is an easy method or tool for reporting the
remaining directory space for any given directory on a NetWare 6.5.5
NSS Volume. We do not have user based directory restrictions but do
have all our top level department directories on our primary data
volume restricted by size. On occasion a department will "run out of
space" on their directory. They then call our help desk and we
allocate some additional space to the directory and ask them to do some
house keeping to get the directory size back down.

I would like to find a report or tool that we could use to schedule a
couple of daily checks and report those directories which have say less
than 50 MB of free space remaining. That way we could deal with these
issues a bit more pro-actively.

Anyone using or know of such a tool?
Thanks,
Bill Conlee

don't know of a tool but it would be easy to script this with a
diskspacefree tool (i'm sure there are loads of freeware ones on the
net) and compare them against a threshold valuel. once the threshold
is tripped you can send yourself an email...

Re: Directory Space Restriction - reports

You can do that fairly easily with the NW extension for ldapGadget
(http://www.dreamlan.com/ldapgadget.html). Please use this page
(http://www.dreamlan.com/contact-us.html) should you like a no-obligation
eval and the relavent sample script or more information.
