Disk errors on bootup

Building an OES2/SLES10 box and trying to partition a SAN device as NSS
in preparation for a migration. It is an IBM BladeCentre.

I can see the device in NSSMU, but it times out when I try and
initialise or create a partition - same thing in iMan.

When I boot the server I see:

Buffer i/o error on device sdb logical block 0
End_request: i/o error dev sdb sector 0

repeated over and over..the box takes about 10-15 minutes to come up.

Any ideas appreciated.

Re: Disk errors on bootup

Ok, looks as though the startup errors are due to the OS attempting to find the failover path to the SAN, and I haven't installed the RDAC modules to enable multipathing.

I'll put them in and see how NSS behaves after that, I'm assuming this would cause delays whenever a disk config is running.
