FTP Access on Dynamic Storage Technology Merged View OES 2018 SP1

Jump to solution

The customer wanted to activate FTP Access on  DST  merged view on OES 2018 SP1.

Based on the documentation for FTP Access to be used - it requires ShadowFS to be installed with DST Merged View.

Novell Samba is needed as well prior to ShadowFS installation.

The thing is that the customer has already novell-cifs installed on the environment which is not compatible with novell-samba if installed together on the same server.

Is there some sort of a work around to have FTP Access be enabled on Merged View on a clustered environment?

Thank you.

Chito

FTP access on DST merged view does not mandatorily require ShadowFS to be running.

FTP access on DST merged view works fine for both eDirectory Users and NSS-AD users. Syntax to access DST merged view is

                cd//OES-SERVER//DST-PRIMARY-VOLUME

For FTP access on DST merged view for eDirectory Users to work fine, make sure NCP/NDSD is running

For FTP access on DST merged view for AD Users to work fine, make sure OES server is configured as NSS-AD server
