Grant user rights to clear connections in NoRM

I want to give a user rights to clear user connections in NoRM on one particular NW6.5 server temporarily for a couple of days.
Is this possible?
Thanks!

Re: Grant user rights to clear connections in NoRM

I think adding their name to the Console operator list under the server
object in C1 will allow them to do that

Cheers Dave

Re: Grant user rights to clear connections in NoRM

I tried that. I then asked the user to access that server's NoRM. He could login but he couldnt see the column to check users and the clear checked connections at the bottom. I even asked him to try a different browser as he is accessing it via rdc.
Thanks though!

You may want to check out NodeMaster (http://www.avanti-tech.com) ...

Re: Grant user rights to clear connections in NoRM

If you'd rather not give the user elevated privileges, you could use our
DSRAZOR for eDirectory/NDS and NetWare product. Try the applet called
"Clear Connections via NLM" in the Helpdesk Examples section of the DSRAZOR
Console. To avoid granting the user additional privileges, you would load
DSRAZOR's optional Zero Privilege Helpdesk NLM on the NetWare server(s)
where the user will be clearing connections. When you load the NLM you
indicate the name of a group. Then only the people who are members of that
group can use the NLM to make changes, such as clearing connections, even if
they don't have the necessary privileges. The applet can be modified if you
want it to show them only specific servers (instead of all servers). When
the applet is the way you want it, save it as an EXE to distribute to the
user(s) who will be running it. This way they only get the EXE for clearing
connections - they don't need the full DSRAZOR product or any other tools.
