Hide the console screen

I know it is possible but can't find how to hide any console screen.
Particularly, I'm interested in how to hide the Apache2 Web Manager screen
on NetWare 6.5 console?

Use the "Hidescreen" command - for usage do "help hidescreen" from the
server console.

Re: Hide the console screen

HIDESCREEN <screen_name>
Hides the specified screen from displaying
when you toggle through the running screens.

Example: hidescreen netware 6 console monitor
Hides the Monitor screen when it is running.

To learn a screen name, press Ctrl+Esc to display
the Current Screens list.

To restore a hidden screen, use the SHOWSCREEN command.

Pick up the monitor, put it in a cupboard and its hidden 😉

Use the -s to startup apache. This will start apache "silently"

Re: Hide the console screen

Hamish and Marcel are exactly right about HIDESCREEN and SHOWSCREEN.

Once a screen is "hidden" (and you can see which ones are in this state on
the Ctrl-Esc screen listing; they're marked with "*"), you can un-hide it by
selecting it by number on the Ctrl-Esc listing of Current Screens, as well
as by using the SHOWSCREEN command. I guess all this is spelled out in the
console help for these commands.

A shortcut that is NOT documented: You only need to type enough of the
screen's name to make it unique, to either hide or un-hide it.

There are several console screens that are hidden by default; you can add
the Hidescreen line to your autoexec.ncf to bring the server up with the
same screen state every time. (Hope I haven't clouded the issue; your
initial question was pretty simple and I may have gotten a little carried
away here.)

And finally, at the risk of stating the obvious: You cannot use HIDESCREEN
to hide the main System Console or the Logger Screen.

Many thank to all of you! I've got much more information than I've asked
for so thanks again.

Actually... It is not that you can't just that they prevent you from
doing so. Of course, hiding the System Console would panick most people
since they would not think about activating an Alternate System Console
screen to un-hide the System Console.
