High Traffic from a server

We are a school system with 17 sites running Novell 6 and 6.5. One of my sites has a very unusual traffic flow. Every hour, for about 7 minutes the traffic flow will jump to around 1000k - 1700k at peak. All the rest of my servers will only peak out at 50k.
I am thinking that the spike is caused by replication of NDS but I am not sure and I do not know why it is so high.
I have done an NCP trace and on one station I am getting constant hits. I have included an attachment of the partial NCP Trace.
Since this is summer and school is out I would like to find the answer to this traffic dilemma and I hope that someone here has the answers.

We are also experiencing similar NCP traffic issues, although I am aware of the culprit. It is an application containing a database backend. Running the applications on a windows share.. it works A1. On Netware.. barely functional. I have played with Sig.. OpLocks.. etc.. to no avail. The program chugs along but at a pace 10-20x slower than SMB. The number of packets passed for the same query is massive via NCB (exponentially greater).. very bizarre.
