HostName Using Angry IP Scanner

I have a couple of PCs that have a weird "HostName" that is returned when I perform a "scan" of my network. When I run my "Angry IP Scanner 2.21" software it shows a "HostName" for a couple of PCs that are not actually set on the PCs. I'm thinking that Novell has this name some were but I can't seem to find it. The names were probably set by prior administratorsbut they didn't leave any information on where they set it. I've checked all the servers Host files and the names are not there.

Where else might I look?

Re: HostName Using Angry IP Scanner

What are the hostnames? Who provides your dns? What happens when you do a ping -a on the IPs of those PCs?

Novell has this name ? I doubt that very much. The client does not set
a hostname on your pc, the administrator does!
