How to be notified when a file is modified, moved, or deleted?

How to be notified when a file is modified, moved, or deleted?

Is there a simple tool that does this?

A user is suspecting someone is making unauthorized changes to a document.
He would like to know who and when this happens.

Thanks,

Mike

NSure Audit, ships with 6.5 but is not simple 😉

Thanks. Any third party apps that anyone knows off?

Right now, i am limited to scraping the Remote Manager website to save file
access status which is good for knowing who is working on what.

Yep - The one I wrote 🙂

Logfile.nlm can log modifications to selected parts of the F/S on a
Novell server - opens/deletes/renames.

There's a time limited demo available here:

Re: How to be notified when a file is modified, moved, or deleted?

Hello Mike,

Our DSMETER product can track file activity. You can configure a DSMETER
profile to watch just that specific file and alert you (or someone else)
when the file is being accessed. The notifications can be email alerts
and/or Novell Send pop-up messages. You can also run reports showing who
has accessed the file.

A 30-day evaluation is available from:
