Ifolder 2.0 slow to sync on 2 out of 4 pcs

I am running 4 pcs with a ifolder 2.0 account. Two of these are at
the office with the server, 2 of them at home. Until this week as waswell. This week two of the pcs now sync fvery slow. one PC is at the

office one is at home. Right now I am watching the server and
watching activity from the two at home. The slow one says sycronizing

with server and takes maybe a full minute or more to complete then
says sycronization complete. Floating mouse over my tray icon for
ifolder says "Novell ifolder is downloading files" and the down arrow

is animating. But nothing downloads. Folder is synced. The fast onedoes exactly the same only much faster. in fact in will sync two or
three times wile the slow when is trying. The slow PC at the office
is now acting the same as the slow one at home. All 4 pcs are
different speed and memory ranging from 600mhz 512 to 1.5mhz 512. The

1.5 at the office is one of the slow ones. It does not seem to be the

PC. I have also reinstalled the client at home and made it completely

resync the home folder.
And help would be greatly appreciated.

Ifolder 2.0 slow to sync on 2 out of 4 pcs

I had the same problem and what I did was on the server side change
the
network board to "auto sence" speed and changed to the same on my
PC:s.
I got the hint from a Novell operator who said that speed problems
usually
is a board configuration problem NOT something to do with the actual iFolder.

Hope this helps, it did for me!

Re: Ifolder 2.0 slow to sync on 2 out of 4 pcs

Its working!!! I decided to go to the ifolder admin and remove all of

my user data. When I did that everything resynced and started working

fine. If it does it again though I will try the network board
changes. That would have been easier.

Thanks.

Re: Ifolder 2.0 slow to sync on 2 out of 4 pcs

This is not generally a good idea. Force everything to run at the
fastest
compatible speed.
e.g. If your server, switch and clients all support 100mbit, then
force
them all to 100mbit, if it were only a 10Mbit switch, force he server
to
10Mbit, why make it auto-sense the speed if you can save it the hassle
by
telling it what it should be. Auto-sense in some configurations can
auto-sense the wrong configuration.

Your Servers and Switches should ideally all be running at 100Mbit.
(forced,
not auto)
