Install eDir during or after SLES10?

have read both ways

I'd like to install SLES10 SP3 first, then eDir/OES after. any problems with that? or better to just install during the SLES install?

I'd like to save a little time by doing SLES first, then eDir/OES while onsite and with access to tree.

If installing during install is better way, no worries.

I believe both are explicitly documented and supported. I've only ever
added OES 2 after SLES (and then only a couple times total), but I know
others who do it all at once.

Good luck.

Re: Install eDir during or after SLES10?

I'm with you, I like to install SLES first and get it all running and then I add the OES after. Has always worked for me.

Re: Install eDir during or after SLES10?

Same here: SLES -> OES -> eDir. I use virtualisation, so i clone a sles template, add the OES repos, install the OES software and call it an OES-Template. i then clone it and install eDir.

allows for scripted installs too.

Re: Install eDir during or after SLES10?

As the others have said, both are supported but I would highly recommend installing and setting up SLES first. Then once everything is working install OES components. It saves alot of troubleshooting 🙂
