Intermittent blue screens WinXPsp1 & NWclient 4.91sp1

We're trying to roll out this new NW client but have reports of many blue
screens.

The first blue screen is usually at login time (mentions winlogon.exe) -
this seems to have been fixed by logging in via safe mode and deleting reg
key:
[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Novell\Graphical Login\NWLGE\NetIdentity
Extension]

However, some users are still complaining that the machine now reboots in
the middle of the day (not just at login).
We are also rolling out Zen7 agent and Symantec Antivirus v10. (Crazy?? No,
we're trying to go one step at a time).

We are using contextless ldap lookup - but the reboots happen sometimes 3 or
4 times a day.

A lot of machines work fine, but a variety are not ok.

Any suggestions?

Graham

Graham,

You might want to try to get the updated ntdll.dll from Microsoft...

WINLOGON.EXE or NWLSCRPT.EXE crashing in Windows Heap32Next call when LDAP
Contextless Login enabled

The ZEN 7 agent likely includes NetIdentity so you don't want to install the
one with the Novell Client...

ZENworks for Desktops Management Agent and NetIdentity Agent Not Compatible

Aside from NetIdentity, any other componenets of the Novell Client being
installed?
Can you isolate anything else unique about said workstations with the issue?

Can you verify a virus, spyware or some other corruption has not affected
Windows?
I've used these free utilities in the past to help troubleshoot and they can
tell you wonders about what is really going with Windows...

AutoRuns, Process Explorer, Filemon, Regmon, LoadOrder, TCPView, and TDImon
