Learning About Hot Swap

I'm new to hot swap using RAID a controller.

Do I have to be running anything specific (NLMs?) on NetWare in the event I need to hot swap a failed drive? Or is all of this transparent to the NOS and is handled by the RAID controller?

PLATFORM:
========
SERVER = Dell PowerEdge 800
RAID CONTROLLER = PERC-3 utilizing 4 HDDs in the array
NetWare v6.0-SP5 (soon to be upgraded to NW6.5-SP3)
CPU = Pent-4, 3.2GHz
RAM = 2GB

Thanks for the assist.

That entirely depends on your Raid controller. Some will start a rebuild
immediately, others need to be told manually. Really bad ones (some
Adaptec <g>), even need a reboot.

I'm not too firm with the various Dell offers, sorry. But there should
be documentation for the controller.
