Login of valid user always fails on given workstation...for a while

Some of our workstations have taken to failing to accept valid
user/password combinations ("system could not log you on..."). A reset
sometimes cures this but not always. Left alone, it will eventually
respond correctly.

What might cause this and how can I correct it, please?

Netware 6, Client 4.91, Zen 4.01, Windows 2000, all updates pretty recent.

Thanks

Re: Login of valid user always fails on given workstation...for a while

This is most probably a time issue triggering the bad address cache and
causing the client to flag the server as inaccessible for 5 minutes.
On the problem workstation, go into the client settings, select the
"advanced options" and set the "bad address cache timeout" to 0 (it is
300 by default). Generally just changing this parameter should ix the
problem.
