Missing OSX folders in NW65SP3

Hi,

We are running NW65SP3 with a mix of Mac OSX, Win 2000 and XP
workstations. Some of the folders that the Mac workstations created on
the Novell server only show up in Macintosh and Consoleone but not in any
of the Windows workstations. The folder names are quite generic such
as "Monthend Balance" so it's not related to illegal characters. It's
also not a trustee issue as the admin account could not see those files
from a PC as well. Is there any fix to this?

Thanks

Re: Missing OSX folders in NW65SP3

I'd start by applying n65nss3a and doing an NSS /visibilityrebuild .

Missing OSX folders in NW65SP3

Just a thought - we had a problem like this - folders not showing up on Windows workstations. It
turned out to be a switch in the Netware client on th workstation. I'm sorry but I can't tell you
which one, but it might give you a place to start looking.

Missing OSX folders in NW65SP3

Hi, would it be the UTF8 setting? If so, then it probably not apply to us
as we are using Client 4.91 SP1.

Re: Missing OSX folders in NW65SP3

I've seen this caused by something as simple as an apostrophe in the Mac
name or the file name is corrupt in the "long" name space.

I would try installing the 4.91 client on a PC and enable the UTF-8 support
and see if the files show up.

I applied n65ns3a and did a NSS /visibilityrebuild. I am getting an error
30200 (invalid object id). Is there any way to remove the invalid object
or just simply rebuild the directory/FAT??

Thanks

Re: Missing OSX folders in NW65SP3

NSS /poolrebuild /purge . Make sure you have a tested backup first, just
in case.

There is still a setting that needs to be enabled - Client Properties,
Advanced Settings, Use UTF Encoding and NCPs.
