Moving iPrint queues to another partition

I have run into a problem with iPrint on an OES Linux server. The root
partition is not large enough to handle the file space required when
printers get too many jobs backed up in the queue. I have a NSS volume with
sufficient free space but I have not found any good instructions on how to
move the printer agent folders from their default location
(/var/opt/novell/iprint/). Any help appreciated, I have to manually go into
iManager and delete old jobs that are stuck in the queues or the root volume
will fill up and start shutting down services, such as iPrint and
eDirectory. Thanks,
Richard G.

I would suggest to do it the Linux way:

first stop the printmanager in iManager

then we archive the directory:

#tar -cvzf /tmp/iprint.tgz /var/opt/novell/iprint/*

then we "hide" the current directory by renaming it

#mv /var/opt/novell/iprint /var/opt/novell/iprint.bak

next step is to create a link to wherever you want your stuff to reside

#ln -s /path/to/new/iprint /var/opt/novell/iprint

finally we restore the content of the archive:

#tar -xvzf /tmp/iprint.tgz

restart the printmanager.

If everything works as expected you can delete the previous directory:
rm -rf /var/opt/novell/iprint.bak

I have not tried this solution "yet", so all commands were taken from
memory with the usual chance of mistakes. Try it only after a proper
backup !!

Hope that helps

Cheers
