NRM & IP Address Mgmt?

Hello,

I changed the IP address of ApacheAdmin in the IP Address Management section of NRM. It now says I have to restart the server. Does that mean I unload/reload Apache and/or Tomcat or I have to actually reboot the server?

Thanks

Re: NRM & IP Address Mgmt?

you need to reload the Apache Admin Server. ( type 'ADMSRVDN' )
after this type ADMSRVUP and it should work for you. If not, you also need
to unload the Portal.nlm and the httpstk.nlm
Then it will be much easier to restart the complete server.

Re: NRM & IP Address Mgmt?

Is the server doing anything on the console or in logger screen?
which NW Version / which SP?

Will the server reboot if you click twice on the "Restart Server" Button?
Since NW 6.5 SP 5 (?) the Server is doing a "reboot server -f" on the second click.

Re: NRM & IP Address Mgmt?

It is NW65.5.

I can't experiment with clicking on the restart server link, the server is in production currently. I would have to try this in off hours

generally, links that Novell put into a product that say restart server do exactly that - so you are doing well to play it safe - you could probably view the source and see what it leads to, but as you say this is a production box 🙂
