NSS volume copy

I would like to copy the entire content of a NSS volume on another volume on
the same server. What is the best and fastest way of doing this? The source
volume is very big. Any server based utility to do this?

Thanks.

Re: NSS volume copy

If you don't have any files above 4GB, then vcu might be the solution for you. While the tool is orginally intedned to copy from TFS to NSS volumes, it can also be used to simply copy NSS volumes. Check the documentation on how to use it:
Novell Doc: OES 2 SP1: NSS File System Administration Guide - Copying and Upgrading Legacy Volumes with Volume Copy Upgrade
Only use the command line version. Avoid the GUI version.

Yes. The SCMT (Server Consolidation and Migration Toolkit) that comes
with Netware does that. The copying is always done server based, and you
can chose if you want a visual representation on the Workstation running
the tool, or not.

Well, I haven't used it myself, but any time someone posts problems with
VCU, it was because of using the GUI and eiether the user clicked the
wrong options in the GUI or the GUI passed the wrong command line options
to VCU.NLM. The most typical problem people have with the GUI is that the
volumes are not correctly renamed.
