Netbackup on NSS volumes

Hello

We are using Netbackup with no direct backup devices on our OES2 / SLES10sp1 servers.

The netbackup agent fails when attempting to backup anything under the following path:

/opt/novell/nss/mnt/.pools/

Yet the backup appears to have no problems with the actual NSS volumes despite this:

/media/nss/vol1

My question is it safe to exclude the /opt/novell/nss/mnt/.pools path from our backups?

Re: Netbackup on NSS volumes

The pools just contain the nss volumes so when you backup the nss volumes you can exclude the pools.

So out of curiosity:

if you actually have to restore in a true disaster recovery scenario, do
you have to recreate those paths?

Or do they get re-created when you re-create the EVMS container and NSS
pools and then restore the data?
