Since OES11 SP2 is still in authorised (closed) beta phase are you
testing against the public beta or another build? If the latter
then you should report via the beta forums that were set up
within Vibe.

Hi Seb,
If the community don't have an answer for you (these forums are only "manned" by volunteers, and not Novell directly) then I recommend that you open a Service Request directly with Novell Technical Support for resolution.
Cheers,

Give this a try:
In iManager:
1. Check and record which Password Policy is assigned to the user OESCommonProxy_ServerName,ou=Lab,o=School
{replace with your context}
2. Delete the user OESCommonProxy_ServerName,ou=Lab,o=School
3. Create the user OESCommonProxy_ServerName,ou=Lab,o=School with the password 12345 (or whatever)
(Assign the correct Password Policy to this user as well)
At the command prompt enter the following:
4. CASAcli -d -n afp-casa
5. CASAcli -d -n common-proxy-casa
6. KEYVALUE=cn= OESCommonProxy_ServerName,ou=Lab,o=School CASAcli -s -n common-proxy-casa -k CN
7. KEYVALUE=12345 CASAcli -s -N common-proxy-casa -k Password
8. export OES_DATA=12345
9. export OES_AFP_DATA=12345
10. echo $OES_DATA
{should echo 12345}
11. echo $OES_AFP_DATA

12. sh /opt/novell/afptcpd/bin/afp_config_proxy.sh cn=OESCommonProxy_ServerName,ou=Lab,o=School cn=admin,o=School server_ip_address 636 1
{if the above succeeds - test to see if AFP works, if not continue}

Well, some mistakes above.
export OES_DATA=Admin-Pwd
to be used with
/opt/novell/afptcpd/bin/afp_config_proxy.sh <proxy-fdn> <bind-fdn> <ldap-ip> <ldap-port> <SSL|NonSSL>
where <bind-fdn> is admin that matches the above password
As per:
https://www.novell.com/communities/coolsolutions/afp-proxyuser/
(the above has also an error where <bind-fdn> is not used at all in command, without it it will just give usage.
So it seems that there is NO clear correct full set of instructions anywhere!
But eventually it works fine
