Password expiration revert to january 1992

Hi,

It's been a while since I have a problem like this one:
Some of my users (2 or 3) have their password periodically set back to
1992!So they have to change it at any time..(after workstation reboot,
after one week...)

My configuration is :
- Netware 6.5 SP3
- Universal password set for all Users
- NIM 2.0
- Client 4.90SP2 (+ a lot of fixes post SP2)
- Windows XP SP1 workstations

Thanx for your help

Re: Password expiration revert to january 1992

When an admin manually resets a user password, this is done deliberately
to force the user to change it again to something the admin doesn't know.

Re: Password expiration revert to january 1992

Hi,

I know that when an admin manually resets a passord, it force the user to
change it.
But in my case, even when the user change its password (from Novell
client), it sometimes revert to 1992. But not immediately.
Here is a perfect example :
- User A logs in
- He is force to change his password
- He changes it
- In console One, the password expiration date change correctly (next
change in 2 months in our case)
- A few days later, User A calls the support and tell that his password
has expired!
- I check in Console One, and his password is set back to 1992!!

No password policy is set for this user, account has no expiration date...
And this happens for a few accounts in eDirectory.

Re: Password expiration revert to january 1992

Well something is resetting those user passwords as if it were an admin.
TID 10093751 documents GW doing it, maybe NIM is doing that in your case.
