Printing stops intermittently after SP4

A few days ago I applied SP4. Now, every 2-4 hours, I printing stops
working and I have to restart NDPSM. Some people can print, others
cannot. I cannot find any errors in logs about this. The only problem
I can see occuring is that the printer agents report as IDLE, but when I
view the printer agent, it reports "Cannot ping printer". I can ping the
printer fine. During this time, I also cannot hit the IPP page to
install a printer, but Remote Manager and iManager work fine.

The broker reports v3.0.11 and the manager report v3.01q. After SP4, I
have only applied NW65NSS4a patch. All the printers are iPrint printers.

Any ideas? Known issue?

Thanks-
Rob

Re: Printing stops intermittently after SP4

Rob you have some more updating to do:

The post SP4 updates updated 10/6

http://support.novell.com/cgi-bin/search/searchtid.cgi?/2972385.htm

While this is in beta, it is a critical update which resolves a number
of problems with SP4:

NSS Issues fixed after the release of NW65SP4.EXE:
1. Fixed purge of deleted directories to not skip some directories.
2. Added a command line switch, /(No)NCPDisplayNonTranslatableNames, to
control an optional feature which was added to select a display mode
for ASCII based NCPs that return translations of non-mappable
unicode as [xxxx].
3. Fixed a latching issue relating to NFS and data migration.
4. Fixed a deadlock caused by running out of work to dos when flushing
system beasts.
5. Fixed a problem in rebuild that could mark non-named beasts
incorrectly and cause them to be deleted.

CIFS Issues fixed after the release of NW65SP4.EXE:
1. Fixed a race condition leading to a memory leak when the
multiprocessor bit is turned on in TCP.
2. Fixed a problem where the CIFS PDC faults when answering NetApp's
"wcc" command (LsarLookupNames2).
3. Fixed a problem where a volume rename was not picked up by CIFS for
mapping without intervention.
4. Fixed a problem where the 'dir' command on DOS clients shows regular
files only or nothing (in the case where a directory contains only
sub-directories).
5. Fixed a problem where CIFS abends during a CIFSSTOP.
6. Fixed a problem where the free space reported by CIFS was inaccurate
because it does not include the purgeable space.
7. Fixed a problem when in the domain pass through mode CIFS wasn't
using the configured PDC IP address.
8. Fixed a problem where the GroupWise archive failed to create via
CIFS.

AFP Issues fixed after the release of NW65SP4.EXE:
1. Fixed FPgetAPPL to work correctly.
2. Fixed a problem with MAC OS 9 and Quark Express 5.00 where the
modification time stamp was changed when it shouldn't have been when
the file was just viewed.
3. Fixed a problem where AFP prevented the copying of files with a hash
'#' character in it giving a "permission denied" error.
4. AFP was not reporting free space + purgeable space properly.
5. Fixed an error returned on a byte range lock which prevented a
prompt when a second user opened a Microsoft Excel document.
6. File ID commands (create, delete, resolve) are now enabled.
7. Map the NSS error Name Not Found in Beast for FPGetFileDirParms.
8. Fixed a NULL pointer call to sprintf.

NSS Issues fixed after the release of N65NSS4A.EXE:
1. Fixed an abend in NSS when doing a file salvage operation. This
happens on pools where quotas or user space restrictions are in
force and the file has either a data strema (typical for MAC files)
or an EA (extended attribute).
2. Fixed a latching issue in NSS if the pool has restrictions during a
file purge operating.
3. Fixed traditional emulation for salvage and purge APIs to return a
successful status if they are successful. There were some cases
where the API completed successfully but the return was not
recognized as successful. This was typically seen by customers
running Novell Remote Manager and doing a purge.

AFP Issues fixed after the release of N65NSS4A.EXE:
1. Fixed an abend in COMN.NSS when MACs are dealing with files that
have #nnn in the name.

There is also a post SP4 TCP update (which can be applied to any 6.5
server apparently) also in beta:

http://support.novell.com/cgi-bin/search/searchtid.cgi?/2972300.htm

There is also a post SP4 DNS update (which can be applied to any 6.5
server apparently) also in beta:

http://support.novell.com/cgi-bin/search/searchtid.cgi?/2972376.htm

There is also a post SP4 NFS Gateway update -- released to public this
is a post NSS4B update:
