Problem install NW 6.5 on IBM Blade server HS20 M/T 88435RU

I am having problem in finishing the NW 6.5 SP5 overlay install on this
blade server. The install started up fine and after the initial reboot, I
will say cannot find the CD-ROM drive. It then locked up on the HDetect
screen window with message "Loading driver... Please wait".

The blade server is connected to a SAN and we want to boot the server up
from the SAN. During the install, I was able to specify the DOS partition
size etc (space from SAN) but don't know why the install stop seeing the
CD-ROM drive.

Hope someone with Blade server experience will be able to help here.

Thanks

Is the CDROM involved an IDE CDROM? If so, it is possible that the
jumper on the CD is misplaced -- it should be configured as master and
not as either slave or cable select.

Both the floppy disk and CD-ROM on the blade are USB devices.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks

Ah -- not sure if you can set up a USB device to act as if it is IDE in
the BIOS. Though netware should work with a USB boot CD (not that I've
tried that).

The original NW65 installation disks had trouble with USB floppies and
CDs, but IIRC SP1 fixed that (and there were special blade isntall
instructions in the interim).

And the blade chassis management tools sometimes would grab the USB
devices away from one blade and give to another even without the operator
requesting it. Should not be a problem on recent equipment, though.

Is PXE boot set up and causing confusion?

OK -- I thought something like that might be the case -- never had a
USB only blade server to do an install on to play with this.
