Problem with AD server registration

Hi,

I try to set up Active Directory in the environment of a customer.
I want to use the Novell DNS server.
I created a zone called customer.local. I followed the TID 10093063.

When I try to register the Windows 2003 R2 server I get the following
error messages on the Netware console

error: Unable to get the RR values with error -601 while updating the
RRSet: srv-hw-01.customer_local.customer for deletion error: Unable
to get the RR values with error -601 while updating the RRSet:
srv-hw-01.customer_local.customer for deletion error: Unable to get
the RR values with error -601 while updating the RRSet:
srv-hw-01.customer_local.customer for deletion error: Unable to get
the RR values with error -601 while updating the RRSet:
srv-hw-01.customer_local.customer for deletion error: Unable to add
RRSet container in eDirectory with error -601 while adding RRSet:
@.customer_local.customer error: Unable to modify RRSet (to add a
value to DNIP:RR attribute): @.customer_local.customer with error -601
error: Unable to add RRSet container in eDirectory with error -601
while adding RRSet: gc_#msdcs.customer_local.customer error: Unable
to modify RRSet (to add a value to DNIP:RR attribute):
gc_#msdcs.customer_local.customer with error -601

What is wrong here?

Kind regards,

Arjan

The AD server is not configured to be in the customer.local zone:

So it appears to be a problem in the AD server's config -- it should be
srv-hw-01.customer.local.

I had not noticed that, I thought is was the usual way of AD
registering itself.
Bbecause it had to be up and running yesterday we gave the AD it's own
DNS on W2K3 and made Novell DNS a secondary of that zone with the
right to do zone transfers between the two DNS servers.

I'll try later on to get everything on one server though.
Kind regards,

Arjan
