Problem with client on Dell Optiplex 760s

Having a strange issue with some new Dell Optiplex 760 small form factors.
When I installed client 4.91 sp3 on them we found that on initial boot in the mornings they would not pick up a default gateway but would log into Novell without issues. Doing a renew IP solved the issue.
Without the client on they were fine first time.

I then tried client 4.91 sp5. This worked in as much as it picked up a default gateway straight away, but 8 times out of 10 the Novell login fails saying it cannot find the tree.

If left long enough - 10 minutes plus it does appear to eventually work OK.
The network cards are onboard Intel 82567 which I think is the issue.
I have installed the latest Dell drivers.

Any thoughts?

This leads to a bad SLP Setup, IMHO....

What you could do, is to send out the server name as an IP Address
using DHCP for a small test
