Problems after new Client IR10

Hello Guys,

I just installed the new IR10 and after that I could NOT start msi-installation from servervolume anymore.
e.g. adobe professional / groupwise 2012 setups.
got MSI-Error.

I tried this with Windows 8.1 and 7 on 3 different Machines

after rollback to IR9 it was functional again

Re: Problems after new Client IR10

Any error message details when trying? Anything in the system event log?
Does it matter if you're logged into the workstation only (vs. eDirectory
as well)?

I cannot dupe this, tried installing LibreOffice from server without problems.

Have you verified that the MSI file is not corrupt at the time you execute
it by comparing the md5sum with a known-good version? There are some
troubleshooting steps around the same error in here that may help:

Re: Problems after new Client IR10

finally I found in the log file:
MSI (c) (FC:8C) [14:35:38:455]: Note: 1: 1324 2: Acrobat Pro 11 3: 1
and
MSI (c) (74:08) [14:41:04:366]: Note: 1: 1325 2: DOWNLOADS

meaning according to this http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa372835%28v=vs.85%29.aspx

Yep it seems like a space in the filename causes this.

But only when using "fullpath" \\server\vol\... If it's mapped drive then it works.

I'll take that back.. I doesn't seem related to filename.. It seems to happen for every msi that is not installed on the computer and that is launched from UNC path. If the application is already installed on the computer and you launch the msi then it will present you the options to modify/remove and successfully does so.

Re: Problems after new Client IR10

Exactly same problem here with our MS Office 2010 install. Tried to revert back to IR9 and the install worked again.

So definately a bug in IR10.
