Questions after 6.5 NetWare (OES) install

I've installed a 6.5 server in an existing tree that contained one 6.5
server which contains the master replica and six other Netware 5.1 servers.

After the install the new server cannot seem to see 3 of the existing
servers when I do a DSREPAIR to check for time only 4 other servers are
listed. I've run DSTRACE and had the same results. All three of these
servers show the new server.

Another question regards logging into NORM. For each of the other
servers I have to type only the admin name and password but for the new
one I have to type the admin name and name of tree (.admin.treename).
Any ideas? Is this a problem?

I appreciate any help you can give.

Ron

Re: Questions after 6.5 NetWare (OES) install

That is normal if the new server does not hold replicas of the whole
tree. It only lists servers it holds objects of.

..admin.admin_context ( mostly the organisation ) not the treename

Thanks. In iManager I see there is no partition or replica of this
server. Do you advise adding a partition and read-write replica of
[Root] to this server as well?
Thanks again for your input.

Thanks for your reply. What I was wondering is why any context is
required with this server when logging in when all the other servers
require no context setting.
Thanks again for yor help.

Re: Questions after 6.5 NetWare (OES) install

Not unless there's a particular reason to do so, such as an app that
requires a local replica, or it's across a WAN link.

Re: Questions after 6.5 NetWare (OES) install

Maybe they are in the same context as Admin and this server is not?
