It seems that your problem could correspond to the following "old"
problem documented in this TID:

I can ask Novell about it, but I guess they will ask you to at least
try with the current 4.91 client before even looking at it.

Marcel-- thanks for the information. I'll try to replace the 4.90 SP2
client with the 4.91 client sometime in the next few days...got a lot of
other catch up stuff to do first.

Again, many thanks. I'll post here if that seems to have fixed the problem.
