Re: NLSMETER.nlm

I have found that there is updated NLS files but they don't seem to be
included in the support packs.

http://support.novell.com/cgi-bin/search/searchtid.cgi?/2970969.htm

Is there any reason they are not included?

Does ZENWorks use nlsmeter for license metering of applications?

I am just trying the new NLS modules as we are having trouble with it here.

The other question I have is, if the nlsmeter.nlm is not needed then why is
it being installed and loaded?

Thanks
Mark

I guess there must be, but I don't know what it is.

I doubt it, but you might ask over in the Zen forums.

Its purpose is to allow Novell Licensing Auditors to gather licensing
compliance info if they were ever to visit your site. IMO they should
carry this software with them, not expect it to be there when they
arrive. Obviously Novell disagree with me.

Back in NW5.1SP6, we asked the same question (being that we're an MLA,
it seemed additionally silly). We ended up getting rid of it, but had
to deal with some other issues as a result (mostly cosmetic, but
nagging nonetheless).

It's now on our list of additional tests prior to installing other
upgrades/patches.

Re: NLSMETER.nlm

Well given that we are also an MLA, and it sounds like it is not required.

I will start testing without it.

Thanks for the input.
