DOS will not be able to isolate the purgable. Dos will not be able to
report the excess above 2 gig because it can't count past 2 gig.

Well, as the dos VLM / Client32 is "sitting" between network and MSDOS-OS I
expected, that the Client is the party to report the free space. As

NDIR /VOL

does report the correct free space I (incorrectly) expected, the DOS client will
do so as well. What I missed: The NDIR.EXE I used is from sys:public/ of a
nw6.5.6 server so this version of NDIR has nothing to do with the DOS client at
all.
