SCMT pre-copy files?

I'm going to migrate our main file server NW6sp5 to NW65sp8 on new
hardware using SCMT.

My question is... can I use the migration wizard to just copy all the
files this weekend, wait a week, restart the migration wizard, copy the
files that have been updated since the first copy and then finish the
migration? or is there a better way to pre-copy files to minimize the
downtime during the migration? We're guessing around 30 hours for data copy.

Re: SCMT pre-copy files?

This should work. When you are in the MIGWIZ, there will be an option to copy if newer. Just make sure to choose that option on the second copy.

One more piece of advice, backup your trustees using trustee.nlm or trustbar.nlm. Hopefully you won't have to use them but its nice to have them backed up in case you do.
