SLE11-SMT

Hi all: For SLES11, which repositories do I need to mirror if I already host an installation server holding the installation dvds/cds? We are running OES11SP1. I host SLES11SP2, OES11SP1, SLES10SP4 and OES2SP3.

Thanks, Chris.

If you have the installation DVDs/CDs available that takes care of the
various -Pool repos so you'll just need the -Updates repos.

For OES11 SP1 (which is an add-on for SLES11 SP2) you'll need
OES11-SP1-Updates, SLES11-SP2-Updates, plus SLES11-SP1-Updates (as per
TID 7010225[1]).

Clarification: You need the separate SLES and OES DVDs to create the
repos. You can't use the combined SLES/OES DVD.

Thanks for the reply. I read through the TID and I am still confused on one issue. Assuming I have an installation source available for SLES11SP2, why would I ever need an SP1 repo? After all I never installed any files from SP1 that were not already on the SP2 source.

Confusingly SLES11 SP2 (on which OES11 SP1 is based) also requires access to SLES11 SP1 repos but fortunately SUSE have "corrected" that with SLES11 SP3.
