Security Watchdog Timeout

I have a problem with students forgetting to logout and then not being able
to logon the next day. I imposed a login restriction between 3am and 4am
every day and that causes them to be logged out during that time. The good
part is that it works fine AND it puts a message on the screen of the
workstation where it happens. The bad part is that it seems that the
workstation can reconnect after the time restriction has passed. This
negates the whole purpose of the logout.

Is there a way to keep the user logged out after the time restriction?

Re: Security Watchdog Timeout

Keith,

What happens when they attempt to reconnect after lets say 7am?

You could also use a ZENworks policy or a Windows scheduled task that calls
the following at the appropriate time...
%YOUR_PATH%\NCShtDwn.exe /1

Re: Security Watchdog Timeout

Try turning off the "Auto Reconnect" in the client properties.
I also recall someone using the screen saver to do a logout instead. I don't
remember the details.

Re: Security Watchdog Timeout

they are automatically reconnected. they don't have to do anything and all
their drive mappings are back.
