Un-delete files for iFolder 3.2 user

Our iFolder system doesn't delete files when users do and I believe that
was a setting when it was originally setup. It's looking like it may
come in handy...maybe.

We have a user that deleted a bunch of files out of her My Documents
folder which has been setup in iFolder. The files still appear in the
iFolder data store. If I look at her iFolder account on the web, it
shows the same as her client. So the files still exist on the server as
they don't appear to have been deleted.

I'm guessing that somewhere in the iFolder database the delete flag has
been set for these files for that user. Question is, how does one get
these files "un-deleted" so they can re-appear/re-sync back to her computer?

I can manually copy the files from her iFolder data store and email them
to her so she can put them back on her computer. I would imagine that
they will re-sync back to the server. I would also imagine that this
would cause them to be on the server twice (unless I delete them from
the original data store).

How would be the best way to go about this?

Thanks,
Mike

Re: Un-delete files for iFolder 3.2 user

Hi,
Another good way is to use sms backup utility to restore the iFolder user
specific data .iFolder admin guide has detailed info.
Thanks
Nitin

Re: Un-delete files for iFolder 3.2 user

Yes, that tells you how to backup and restore a user. But, I don't need
to restore a user. The user and all the documents appear in the iFolder
system data store. But, not all the files that I can see in the data
store appear when the user connects via either the web or iFolder
client. So, something (flaim database?) is hiding those files from the
user. How do we get the files to show up again?

Thanks,
Mike

Re: Un-delete files for iFolder 3.2 user

I understand what sms can do. And it won't help in this instance as the
files exist (haven't been deleted).

When a user opens up their My Documents that has been setup within
iFolder, they only see three directories. There were about 75
additional files there that they accidentally deleted. After which
iFolder sync'd.

When I go to the iFolder server console and do an ls on that user's data
store, I see the three folders and the 75 additional files which haven't
been removed from they iFolder system.

So, I'm guessing that the flaim database has marked these files as
deleted for that particular user account even though the system didn't
really delete the files.

In that instance, restoring a file that already exists isn't going to
make any difference.

Any thoughts on how to get these files to re-appear to the user?

Thanks.
