Unable to register OES11 registration code with Novell Customer Center due to 502 error

I get constantly (sometimes it works, but not long enough to get the
registration done) the following errors in NCC for now a whole day:
ERROR: 502: Bad Gateway!
[Odyssey_LoginHead]
The proxy server
received an invalid
response from an
upstream server.

The proxy server could
not handle the request
POST /center/regsvc/.

Reason: Error reading
from remote server

[LAP_intero]
502 Bad Gateway

Nothing in this server is configured to use a proxy server.
Unfortunately the Novell Customer Center only allows activation of
systems, that are missing SLES activation, but does not support
activating OES11 on a registered system.

That is really annoying. When will Novell/Suse come to a really working
software activation system - or at least offer a 24h telephone service
for those issues as most other software vendors, which require some
form of activation/authentication offer.

I understand your frustration!

This is a known issue that has been impacting registrations all day
long. All I can say at this point is that they are working on it.

When I have more information I will report back.

Novell seems to have been resolved the issue with no explanation as to
its cause. If you experience similar issues again, please report them
to Novell or here in the forum and someone will follow up.

Thank you.

There was an internal announcement (@ 01-May-2012 21:31) but nothing
public AFAIK.

Yes, it worked today.

What would also help in these situations is a better information policy.

One could post such problems on an appropriate place on the webpage.
That would help all customers experiencing problems and should be
doable without big financial efforts. (I know, that these forums are
not monitored by Novell ....)

I too am having this issue today
Is it Novell's fault, or could I have something wrong that gives the same result

It's hard to say... Try again a bit later.

Someone usually resolves the issue when it is reported. I only wish
they would find a permanent solution.
