Unprovisiioned user

Having a problem with iFolder client creating new account.

When user tries to connect to iFolder server with username and
password then workstation sees this error:

You are not authorized to use iFolder

and server displays this error:

IS_USER [0]
LOCATE_SERVER username unprovisioned user.

When user tries to connect to iFolder server with username.ou.ou.ou
and password then workstation sees this error:

Invalid password

and server displays this error:

username.ou.ou.ou authentication failure.

Currently running iFolder v2 7/19/02 on NW6SP3 server with eDir
870/10410.98.

Existing iFolder users connecting/synchronizing OK.

Re: Unprovisiioned user

Have you gone into the iFolder admin config menus and configured that

user as an iFolder user?

Re: Unprovisiioned user

Is that user account in the same OU as the other users?

Is there more than one user account by that name?

Re: Unprovisiioned user

Upgraded to iFolder v2.1 - same problems - enabling new users but they
cannot log in.

Tried test users (ensuring unique usernames) (search to add users and
iFolder admin finds user in correct context)
in different OUs - no luck.

Current users logging in and synch OK.

Sample from iFolder\error.log:

2/03 08:52:27 iFolder Host OS: NetWare 5.60.03
10/22/03 08:52:27 iFolder Host WebServer: Apache/1.3.27 (NETWARE)
mod_jk/1.2.2-dev
10/22/03 08:52:54 LOCATE_SERVER user124 unprovisioned user
10/22/03 08:54:08 LOCATE_SERVER user124 unprovisioned user
10/22/03 08:55:20 LOCATE_SERVER user124 unprovisioned user
10/22/03 08:56:16 LOCATE_SERVER user124 unprovisioned user
10/22/03 08:57:01 LOCATE_SERVER kenneml unprovisioned user

Console1 iFolder_ldap01 object iFolderLDAPContexts show
*0=BAY;*ou=teachers,ou=mms,o=bay
*O=BAY would be correct (i.e. we want to search all subcontainers)
We did teachers.mms.bay via the iFolder admin web page.

Did check file apache\ifolder\server\httpd_ifolder_nw.conf and noticed
that we cannnot change "O=BAY" to
"*O=BAY". When we did and then restarting iFolder, then users could
not log in. Assuming iFolder reads NDS now
for LDAP login context.

# iFolder Server LDAP Settings

# Edit the LdapHost
# if the SSL LDAP port of 636 is used, you must
# enter the path to the LdapRootCert.

LdapPort 636
LdapLoginDnContext "O=BAY"
# -or -
# LdapLoginDnContext ",ou=xxxx,o=xxxx"

Re: Unprovisiioned user

Try configuring iFolder to only search the problem user's container
for
a test, in case this is a case of LDAP not properly searching the
tree.

But if the older users, in the same container, are working, it sounds

like a schema issue somehow.

Re: Unprovisiioned user

Found problem with the user - user object properties other tab -
ifolderservername attribute other had a ";". Changed that to correct value and
user OK.

But somehow in process of changing ldap search context and other
things - we now cannot enable other users to user ifolder. The console screen
seems to indicated that request is made (see following).

But if we go back into iFolder admin and search for the user, the user
is found and ready to be enabled (although we just did that). Also
after enabling the user, we search for the user again and the user icon is
not yellow (which I assume means the user is iFolder enabled).

Any ideas ??

I didn't see a following...

Can you change the ldap search context back?

Re: Unprovisiioned user

Sorry for delay but been fighting with Dell on server tech
support/maintenance.

We changed the ldap search to just the context which contained the
user we could not get logged into iFolder. Just had an error. Found
a TID which said to check the NDS user object properities | other tab
| iFolderServerName for a ";" only. It did, so we changed to
"iFolder_server01;" and user able to get into iFolder. We also
found out that we cannot use Netscape7.1 to enable iFolder for users.
Do not get any error message, just does not enable the user for
iFolder.

Everything seems to be OK now. Thanks for the help.
