Unusual icon next to User icon in Console One

Hi, I was hoping to locate a list of Novell icons for Console One, as I need to identify an icon which has appeared next to an existing user.
The existing user has the standard user icon, then a symbol which looks like a few dots circling anti-clockwise to an arrow.

I can't work out how to paste or attach an image to this post, but the icon is roughly like a reverse refresh symbol.

When I view the same tree in iManager, this user doesn't appear at all, either when I search that OU or when I search from the root of the tree. Just wondering what is the status of this user account and why this icon.
Thanks, Nat

Re: Unusual icon next to User icon in Console One

Going by your description I'm guessing this is an alias, meaning it is a
pointer to the real user. If you go to the Other tab in ConsoleOne I
think it'll show you the Object Class which is probably 'Alias'. This can
happen if you move an object and choose to leave an alias behind so that
references to the old DN still work.

Why would this show up in ConsoleOne but not iManager? Perhaps one
replicas has the object while others do not and it's a coincidence based
on which client (iMan/C1) hits which server. Query all servers via
iMonitor to see what they show respectively.

Re: Unusual icon next to User icon in Console One

Hi ab,

Excellent thank you! Yes, the correct Object name is a number 28018771 instead of kmiddleton, so kmiddleton is the alias. I have deleted the alias and all is well. Most appreciated.

Do you know if there is any documentation on Novell icons?

Re: Unusual icon next to User icon in Console One

No, I am not aware of anything like that. With that said, ConsoleOne is
EoL and anything that did list all of the known/Novell-published icons
would still require a manual search by a human to resolve it back to an
object class. Since going to the properties of the object should reveal
the desired info, I'm not sure having an index of all of those pictures
would be terribly useful for your purpose. I suppose it may be
interesting for archival purposes, and of course you're welcome to create
one and post it as a CoolSolution. 🙂

The icon list in your iManager directory
[iManager]\tomcat\webapps\nps\portal\modules\dev\images\dir
could be a starting point.
