Update Agent and Mapped Drive

Hi,

I want do use for the Update Agent a Mapped Drive instead of using a UNC
Path. This way traveling users are getting the updates always from a
local Server. But this does not work !
I found TID 10098824, but it looks like that SP2 has not fixed this
issue ! Are there any information when this will be fixed ?

Thanks,
Reinhard

Re: Update Agent and Mapped Drive

What OS? If XP, there could be issues that would take a bit of working
since by default User Drive letters are not available to the system space.
Consider using System Level environment level variables that point to local
unc resources.

Re: Update Agent and Mapped Drive

Reinhard,

I haven't tested nor can I confirm if its possible but you might look
into having the Update Agent call an environment variable where said
local UNC path/server is set as suggested in some of these cool solutions...
