Upgrading XP to Vista - Can't uninstall client

I did an upgrade from XP to Vista (just doing r&d) with the Novell Client 4.91sp3 still installed, as well as Zenworks Agent for Zenworks 7 sp1. I was able to uninstall the agent after the upgrade to Vista but cannot uninstall the Novell client or the NICI. If I try to install the Novell Client for Vista (thinking it would detect the 4.91sp3 client and remove it), I get a blue screen after rebooting. Has anyone else experienced this and do you have any ideas?

It was forever ago since I tried, but the Vista upgrade wouldn't let
me proceed with the Novell Client installed. It was on some list of
software Vista knew wouldn't be compatible and so you had to rectify
that before upgrading. May have been during the Vista beta though.

Just for the record, what was the specifics of the platforms in use?
(e.g. XP Home SP1 to Vista Business x86; XP Professional SP2 to Vista
Home Premium x86; XP Professional SP2 to Vista Ultimate SP1 x86; etc.)
Maybe there is a path they didn't check because they thought they were
going to/from Home Edition or similar.

No, I don't know of a way to clean that up; Novell Client 4.x isn't
expecting to be running on Vista, and Novell Client for Vista isn't
expecting 4.x to be present on the target machine. I would discard
the machine image where this happened during R&D, and remove the
Novell Client 4.x prior to any future Vista upgrade.
