Utility to identify applications running on Novell servers?

Hi All,

Are there any utilities available to identify what applications are running on a given Novell server? (Basically, a MAPS-type tool for Novell.)

TIA,

What is a "MAPS-type tool" exactly?

By "Novell" servers do you mean NetWare, or do you mean anything else like
OES, or SLES, or appliances by Novell like the Small BUsiness Suite?

If you mean anything Linux-based, seeing what is running is done via 'ps',
and seeing what is installed is usually accomplished via rpm (or its
wrappers, zypper and Yast).

On NetWare, seeing what is installed is done via (as I recall) nwconfig,
and seeing what is running is done via 'modules' ('m' is an alias).

Re: Utility to identify applications running on Novell serve

MAPS = Microsoft Assessment and Planning Toolkit; detects applications running on servers and clients for planning server upgrades, migrations, etc.

We were looking for some kind of automated tool, like the above, to determine what is running on some old NetWare servers. Using the Modules listing approach is time consuming and totally manual. We were hoping there was another method that can produce some information without the intense hands-on approach of examining all of the servers manually.

ZENWorks has inventory.

Does that include things that aren't being run by ZenWorks, that are running on a NetWare server? An NLM that hosts an app, for example?

ZCM has an inventory module for NetWare servers:
