Who Am I

Just installed a new 6.5 server in a new tree. The old server is a 4.11.
The programer is useing the "Who Am I" command as part of her scripts. It
dosen't appear to work in 6.5. We would like to phase out the 4.11, any
sugestions?

To find the logged in user? Whoami.exe should work on 6.x as well, provided
you copy all needed files from the 4x server, ie whoami /ver

But, better is changing the scripts. What are they written in?

Re: Who Am I

i have copies of the old 4.x utils on my laptop ansd still use them all
the time. they work fine, for the most part - bearing in mind they
were mostly written for an IPX world (but I can't think of any specific
functions that don't work anyways).

Re: Who Am I

Maybe I'm putting the exe in the wrong place. I coppied what I thought
was the right file to the Public dir. Do I need more then one file? I'm
running both IP and IPX. I don't know what the programmer is writing the
code in I think Cobal. I'll be onsite tommorow and try to get more
information.

Thanks For Your Help

Run the exe on the 4.x server as WHOAMI /VER

Copy ALL the files listed to the 6.x server. Exe goes in public. The rest
most lileky go under nls/4, but you can check on the 4.x server where they
are.
