Does anyone know if there is a client version that works with Windows XP
64 bit? I am currently using Client 4.90

No, there is not. Novell is looking into whether to produce one. You
can make you desire known by submitting an enhancement request at
http://support.novell.com/enhancement/index.html?sourceidint=suplnav4a_enhancement.

Nope -- Novell may still be considering a 64 bit client, but there
certainly is no 64 bit client available for Windows.

Re: Windows XP 64bit support

Anyone have any idea on how to connect a Windows x64 client to a NetWare 6 server then?
I've tried native file access (CIFS) but it doesn't seem to work either.

Re: Windows XP 64bit support

Hi Scott,

Novell Native File Access for Windows is the only option for now.

It should work, however there are some security options you need to change on your
workstation(s) (NetBIOS over TCP/IP must be enabled, turn off mandatory packet signatures,
etc.).
Look at past posts in the novell.support.native-file-access forum, and ask any related
questions there.

IOW, turn off all security and hope for the best, eh?

Re: Windows XP 64bit support

At the very least (if no 64-bit client) Novell should be updating NFAW/CIFS to support SMB signing (http://support.novell.com/cgi-bin/search/searchtid.cgi?/10084607.htm), which currently must be disabled. Really that solution is not one that anyone should be willing to risk...

Not quite the only option...

The Windows "My Network places" can connect via WebDAV to a NetWare 6
server that's running "NetStorage".

In my experience, the Native File Access has been unreliable.

You're right - I forgot about that one.

Re: Windows XP 64bit support

That is definitely another option, but the performance of webdav (at least via
Netstorage) is nowhere near NFAW in my experience. Interestingly, the
performance of NFAW is usually faster than using NCP/NWFS. Anyone else?

Everyone should submit a request. Novell really needs to release a 64 bit
client.
